Audi has officially unveiled the 2010 Q7 crossover which features minor styling updates and improved fuel economy.
The exterior receives a modest makeover that includes a newsingle-frame grille with vertical chrome accents, redesigned bumpers,more distinctive underbody protection, updated side sills, aggressivefender flares, and new LED taillights. Although halogen headlights comestandard, the optional xenon plus package features xenon headlights, anadaptive-lighting system, LED daytime running lights, and air intakemounted LED turn signals. The optional aluminum exterior stylingpackage comes with additional chrome accents, body color bumpers, and acontrasting paint scheme for the front apron and rear diffuser.
Interior changes for the 2010 Q7 include a new instrument cluster withlarger displays for improved readability, additional chrome accents,door mounted ambient lighting, and a new trim piece for the passengerside dashboard.
Power comes from a variety of different engines including four dieselsand two petrol units. The petrol engines include a 3.6-liter FSI V6with 206 kW (280 bhp) and 360 Nm of torque and a 4.2-liter FSI V8 thatis rated 257 kW (350 bhp) and 440 Nm of torque.
On the diesel side there is a 3.0-liter TDI with 176 kW (240 bhp) and550 Nm of torque, it is rated to consume 9.1L/100 km (25.85 US mpg). A"clean diesel" 3.0 TDI is also available, it features an advancedcommon rail injection system, a high-performance exhaust recirculatingsystem, and a DeNOx catalytic converter. This version of the 3.0 TDI israted to consume 8.9L/100 km (26.43 US mpg) and already meets the 2014Euro 6 emission limits. The 4.2-liter V8 TDI boasts significantlyreduced fuel consumption despite being more powerful for 2010. Fueleconomy improves from 11.1L/100 km (21.19 US mpg) to 9.9L/100 km (23.76US mpg) and the engine’s output is now 250 kW (340 bhp) and 760Nm of torque.
The range topping Q7 V12 TDI also returns to the lineup, it boasts 368kW (500 bhp) and a massive 1,000 Nm of torque. Performance figures forthis monster include a 0-100 km/h time of 5.5 seconds, a limited topspeed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph), and a fuel economy rating of 11.3L/100km (20.82 US mpg).
