I agrees on the "enviroment" theory. Best way to learn a language is probaly to just move to the countries that speaks the language.
If there is financial diffcuties or you just simply don't want to move to a unfamiliar place, make yourself get addicted to the movies in that language...with subtitles of course. It should get you to AT LEAST understand what are the foreigners trying to say. To speak it fluently yourself, you may want to put some additional effort into things like vocabs---common used words, not big professional words. And about grammar, if your goal is only to be able to speak and hear (again in the sense of daily life, not professional), watch enough movies should let you learn that language's grammar without any efforts(only if you are not lead poisoned).
Also if you are trying to be professional, that is being outstanding among the most of the native speakers of that language, is pretty hard. If might be easy for some people if they are lucky enough to have all the necessaries: money, talent, enviroment, chance, and etc. However, for most of us it is pretty hard to achieve unless you are really really into it.
Speaks of talent, I think it's just means how a person thinks, or the way he/she thinks. Unfortunately it is almost impossible to change it.
What I'm saying is don't get frustrated if you are not good at one thing. Go find some thing to do that's actually matches the way your brain functions, you will be much more success than to strcuk on the things that is totally does not suit you. |
