It is an Indian fairy tale. Andrew Lang included it in The Olive Fairy Book, describing as a Punjabi story collected by Major Campbell in Feroshepore.

Andrew Lang, 1844-1912

He was a poet, novelist, and literary critic, and contributor to anthropology.

He now is best known as one of the most important collector of folk and fairy tales.

The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named for him.

There are 12 colors fairy book he Wrote.
