【內容簡介】：
國外網站 4Player Co-op 近日曝光《古墓奇兵》新作的藝術概念圖與遊戲內容。該網站隨即在代表研發工作室 Crystal Dynamics 的律師要求下、移除相關圖片內容。根據稍早曝光的消息顯示，《古墓奇兵》新作將融合恐怖生存的遊戲要素，設定為《古墓奇兵》系列的再啟動，也就是當初年輕、缺乏經驗的蘿拉（Lara Croft）如何轉變成為堅強冒險家的過程，故事描述蘿拉在島嶼面對眾多長爪的怪物挑戰。
需注意的是，文中所描述皆為 PC/PS3/Xbox 360《古墓奇兵》新作遊戲「概念」，實際新作狀況仍以官方未來公布為準。文中描述，怪物將會在全島各地不斷地追捕玩家，逼迫蘿拉使用長距離武器來與怪物一對一作戰。整個島嶼將會是個開放式的遊戲世界，擁有多樣化的地形、氣候與自然現象，蘿拉能要想辦法穿越懸崖、鴻溝，努力探索環境如此惡劣的島嶼；當蘿拉發現新的物品像是攀登用的斧頭、繩索、刀等，她將有機會解鎖、找到前往新區域的方法，或出現新的遊戲選項。
在已經被網站取下的藝術概念圖中，有張蘿拉騎在馬上企圖拉弓射箭，顯示蘿拉在島上冒險時，可望有除了雙腳以外的交通工具。
故事描述當暴風雨突然來襲，摧毀了蘿拉的研究船，年輕而缺乏經驗的蘿拉發現她自己被困在一個鄰近日本、神祕而偏遠的島嶼。島上有奇怪跡象顯示，島上曾有過居民，但卻因不明原因遺棄了他們所居住的地方，蘿拉必須靠著個人的決心、機智與內在的力量，來面對嚴厲與無情的挑戰；她將有機會橫跨巨大的島嶼荒野，並深入幽暗的地底與古墓，了解整個島嶼的過去。蘿拉在遊戲將會發揮她的極限，來面對各種無情戰鬥與探險，同時被迫適應她所處的環境，為了生存而來戰勝隨時在監視她一舉一動的怪物。
新作概念強調「獵殺或被獵殺」、「生存行動」、「策略性武器運用」等要素，玩家將會體驗充滿野性的攻擊與防守，在各種混戰中玩家得運用各種不同的武器如弓箭、遠程武器、槍枝等來打倒對手。
