We often learn the most from our children.
我們常常會在自己的小孩子身上學到很多東西.


Some time ago, a friend of mine punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper.
很久之前, 我的一位朋友為了他三歲的女兒浪費了一些金色的包裝紙而處罰了她.


Money was tight, and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the tree.
那個時後也不是很有錢, 然而當他看見孩子將裝飾好的盒子放在樹下後他更加的火大.


Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said,This is for you, Daddy.
不管怎麼樣隔了一天, 那小女孩還是把把那個盒帶到他父親面前說 :"爸爸 這是給你的."


He was embarrassed by his earlier over-reaction
他就對先前的過度反應而不好意思


but his anger flared again when he found that the box was empty. He yelled at her,Don't you know that when you give someone a present, there's supposed to be something inside of it?
當他發現盒子裡面沒有東西時他又發起脾氣 大聲的罵他說 : 妳到底知不知道禮物盒裡面應該是有禮物的


The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said,Oh,Daddy it's not empty.  I blew kisses into the box.  All for you, Daddy.
那個小女孩擡起頭來 含著眼淚望著他爸爸說 :喔 爸爸 裡面不是空的 在盒子裡有很多我吹進去的吻, 那些全是給你的.


The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged her forgiveness.
那父親當時就完全的崩潰了 他就抱著小女孩並乞求她的諒解


My friend told me that he kept that gold box by his bed for years.Whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.
我的朋友跟我說 那個金盒子已經放在他床舖邊很久了 每當他遇到挫折時 他就會拿出一個吻來 並想起 放這些吻進去的孩子對他的愛


In a very real sense, each of us has been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses from people who care about us.
說真的 我們每一個人都有一個所有關心我們的人所送的金盒子,在那裡面裝滿了他們給我們無條件的的愛和飛吻


There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.
沒有人能夠得到比這些更寶貴的東西.
