Definition: Habitus are good behavior that are governed by rules, achieved through self-directed focus without the need for willpower, and which create a perpetual motion mechanism that consumes no energy.
Perseverance is a virtue and an essential condition for success.
However, many people misunderstand it as "last-minute cramming" or "a burst of energy overnight," seemingly believing that as long as they persist for a moment (or a period of time), they can achieve their expectations, such as:
Getting into a good school, passing an interview at a top 100 company, completing a performance review, getting a promotion/pay raise, or gaining the upper hand in a controversy, etc...
But have they ever considered that those awards/status obtained solely through momentary effort (or even a lack thereof) have extremely low barriers to entry/value? Like the difference between a university degree today and one from 20 years ago, the difference in their perceived value is qualitative.
Not only that, but many people can't even distinguish between these differences!
"Education doesn't equal to ability; your value lies in your comparison with others: Why you, and not them?"
Competition in narrow alleys yields only mediocre victors; only through broad exploration can one surpass the peak.
The world is vast, but one must venture out to truly experience it; perseverance must be in the right direction, and one must understand how to maintain and preserve it.
Take boxing as an example: the moment you're knocked down, what keeps you up isn't the desire to win, but the arduousness of daily training.
In other words, desire can only ignite a willpower called "persistence," which is extremely fragile and limited.
Only natural, unforced patterns and autonomous behaviors, as natural as habits, constitute habitual practice; "persistence" is one aspect of this.
"Habitus" originate from internalized thinking, a second nature determined by social culture and environment, influencing all human behavior in the world.
Those accustomed to thinking are less likely to make foolish mistakes; those accustomed to action are less likely to be hesitant.
This is an automated logical mechanism, without preconditions or constraints, and unrelated to success or failure.
Once grasped, knowledge will reflect what you achieve, and everything falls into place naturally; success is certainly gratifying, but even failure offers lessons.
Thus, "Contemplation," "Words magic," and "Habitus " constitute the initial cycle for achieving a wish:
1. Initial thought → Planning → Habit formation.
2. Initial thought → Habit formation → Planning.
It's not difficult; those who have read it should understand. But why are over 60% of people constrained by the expectations of others!?
